FUNCTION

The Industrial Design and Human Factors product engineer is responsible to develop concepts on existing products and produce ideas that are creative, innovative, ergonomic, user-friendly that attracts consumers. Included are responsibilities to coordinate the look, feel and function of all product lines resulting a high degree of usability, comfort and functionality.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

This list of duties and responsibilities is not all inclusive and may be expanded to include other duties and responsibilities as management may deem necessary from time to time.

  • Study and recommend techniques to improve existing products. Draft sketches and illustrations of potential products or work on enhancing an existing product to make it more appealing to consumers.
  • Maintain contact with suppliers and customers to discuss product issues.
  • Lead new product design and development with aspects of styling, product identity and function
  • Lead and create prototype models for evaluation
  • Keep apprised of new developments, materials, or processes through trade publications and trade shows.
  • Retain and maintain adequate project files and reports.
  • Create and maintain a product protocol regarding controls, cushion styling and seat ergonomics
  • Be the company-expert on human factors
  • Assist with the development and implementation of goals and plans of action consistent with company objectives.
